Apart from painting, Sharon is dedicated to her family - her husband and two young daughters - and to literature which she hopes to pursue seriously one of these days. The shelves lining her living room walls virtually groan under the weight of books, many of them classics, which she frequently refers to as she talks, pointing out relevant passages to illustrate a concept or her latest source of inspiration. "I want to study the classics. That's another ambition. I would also like to write better – not professionally, but well enough to explain myself and clarify my thoughts, so I can think about things in a more organised fashion."
