While Sharon Stone's style defies formal definition, it is more closely aligned with Abstract Expressionism - a term originally used to used to describe the work of Arshile Gorky, Willem de Kooning and Jackson Pollock - than any other technique.

"This is not something you'd ever learn at art class, which is about discipline and form and colour and perspective and brush strokes," says Sharon.

"I've just developed my technique by experimenting."
