Unlike many painters who abhor computers, Sharon plays with digital images to explore abstract possibilities and encourage inspiration for new works of art. "I may take something quite ordinary, like a photo of the countryside, and then apply Photoshop effects to see what happens," she explains. "But if I carry that through and produce a painting from my experiment ... the inspiration would not always be apparent to other people. For instance, if they think the mountains in Sun Strikes Gold are actually ocean, and the lava a sunset, it only serves to make my art more interesting." |
