Sharon, who grew up in Cairns, says she has a special affinity with water which is why she glazes her abstracts with resin – to capture the shimmer of the sea. Now resident on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, she began learning art several years ago. Initially, she "dabbled around", creating colourful canvases for her own home. When an acquaintance saw them and requested one to match her own decor, Sharon obliged and made her first sale. Shortly afterwards, she approached an art gallery in Mudjimba near Noosa and sold a few more, then another in the hinterland. It did not take long for the word to spread.
